Hello, In my opinion, GiNaC is neither fast nor mature for serious work except the very specific tasks the maintainers have created it for. If I were you, I'd have a look at Pari first. From your description, I cannot see why you could not use it, plus it's fast and tested. You can ask me question if you want to go Pari. Regards, ralf
